Collection: Cloisonné
My cloisonné jewelry is made with transparent vitreous enamel applied in small enclosures ( called cells or "cloisonné") made with thin wire. The wire (usually fine silver or 24k gold) is shaped and adhered to fine silver with a thin coat of clear enamel. It is then fired in a kiln at 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. The enamel is finely ground glass and water applied with a brush. Many thin coats of enamel are applied and fired each time. Most of the pieces here were fired a minimum of 10 times. After the cells are full, the piece is ground smooth and fire one last time. I am enamored with this meticulous technique and spend many hours making each one perfect.
